LeanLam

Assembly, traceability and process control for next-generation automotive glass.

LEANLAM / NEXT-GENERATION AUTOMOTIVE GLASS

Advanced glass. Controlled production.

Thinner glass, integrated functions and increasingly demanding production schedules. LeanLam coordinates assembly, vision and de-airing to manage this complexity.

Automotive glass development requires a process that supports the product: from component handling and interlayer management to thermal and vacuum control. LeanLam integrates these functions with process data and anomaly-management tools.

Traceability

Recipes, thermal conditions and vacuum levels make the production path visible. Linking data to the product supports quality checks and deviation analysis.

Production resilience

Monitoring, anomaly management and assisted parameter reconfiguration support process continuity within permitted conditions, contributing to regular just-in-time flows.

Quality & repeatability

Robotic assembly, vision references and coordinated recipes help maintain control over positioning and treatment conditions.

SMART GLASS / THIN GLASS

More functionality. Greater process control.

Reduced thicknesses, functional interlayers and technologies integrated into the laminate require attention to gripping, positioning and treatment. LeanLam configuration is developed around product geometry, composition and sensitivity.

Handling, assembly and process parameters are defined for the application, checking compatibility of materials and smart glass functions.

Bag Furnace efficiency helps reduce the energy required for the thermal and vacuum stage. Documented consumption and explicit comparison conditions allow assessment of energy benefits and associated emissions, distinguishing the furnace from the complete line.

LEANLAM / ASSEMBLY AND INSPECTION

From glass and interlayers to the assembled laminate.

Stages and equipment are defined according to product composition and line configuration.

Manual, semi-automatic or automatic stations assemble glass and interlayers. Thin glass and HUD-zone configurations require specific gripping, alignment and inspection provisions.

  • Shape inspection and printed-circuit checks, where applicable, before assembly.
  • Pair separation and turnover for washing and drying.
  • Lay-up and pre-pressing according to configuration.
  • Possible integration of mirror bosses, sensors, brackets and antennas.

The assembled laminate moves on to vacuum pre-lamination in the Bag Furnace integrated into the LeanLam line.

IOCCO software / Industrial AI

Configuring the laminate, supporting production teams

AI-assisted software supports operators through the LeanLam assembly and pre-lamination flow.

Glass mass, interlayers and technologies incorporated in the laminate guide parameters for the relevant stages. Step-by-step guidance supports configuration and anomaly intervention, making process knowledge accessible to operators with different experience levels.

At enabled stages, the software applies revised settings to support flow continuity. Integrated thermodynamic treatment is explored in the Vacuum Bag Furnace technology section.

ASSEMBLY AND BAG FURNACE

Furnace efficiency within the integrated process

LeanLam combines the assembly line with Bag Furnace treatment.

The consumption reduction achieved through furnace development contributes to LeanLam's energy balance. The comparison between Bag Furnace generations concerns the thermal and vacuum stage; quantifying savings across the complete line also requires assembly, handling and auxiliary utilities included in the supply to be considered.

Product, recipe and production volume define comparison conditions. Energy savings provide the basis for assessing associated emissions according to the production site's energy supply.
