I.NTEGRA

Forming, cooling and dimensional inspection tooling for automotive glass.

Glass shape, tooling behaviour

I.NTEGRA is the IOCCO division combining process engineering and precision tooling for automotive glass.

Moulds, rings, cooling systems and checking fixtures are developed around product geometry, thermal cycle and line interfaces. Applications include windshields, backlites, sidelites and roofs, for laminated and tempered glass.

Tooling in the Automotive Glass process

Explore sections

01 / Forming and materials

From mould surface to glass geometry.

Thermal uniformity, contact and ring adjustment contribute to forming. The design considers tooling mass, heating and supports, including curved rollers or air-flotation tables.

Materials and surface finishes

Aluminium, ceramics and stainless steel are selected according to temperature, stiffness and release conditions. Low-adhesion finishes, contact-area protection and maintainable components complete the tooling specification.

02 / Cooling and quenching

Distributing air to match the shape to be tempered.

Quench rings and quench boxes connect glass support with cooling. Nozzles, distribution chambers and pressure balancing are designed for the product profile.

Flow analysis, including CFD, supports system definition. Compatibility and retrofit options for existing lines are also assessed.

03 / Metrology and checking fixtures

Comparing the product against defined references.

Checking fixtures verify glass dimensions and curvature. References, support points, sensors and measuring methods are defined according to the customer's specification.

Naked glass and tertiary glass

Naked glass: inspection of glass without applied components.

Tertiary glass: inspection of glass complete with seals, pins, brackets or other accessories.

Configurations may include manual checks or digital acquisition, with results and data recorded for SPC and PPAP activities as specified by the project.

04 / Surface design and compensation

Connecting design, thermal process and measurement.

CATIA V5 design covers surfaces, tolerances and interference checks, with technical documentation and bills of materials. Compensation considers thermal deformation and springback, using metrology feedback to refine geometry.

Product verification connects manufactured tooling to design references: comparing required geometry, behaviour during the cycle and measured results.
