Automotive glass automation by IOCCO
IOCCO builds automotive glass automation for OEM and replacement programs. Our scope covers tempered and laminated lines, vacuum de-airing (bag, box, ring), robotics, and inspection. As a result, plants run faster, waste less, and save energy.
We also work with leading glass makers worldwide. Our machines connect to common PLC and robot platforms. In addition, Tier-1 components improve safety, reliability, and serviceability across your projects.
Automotive glass automation — production modules & lines

Tempered glass: backlites & sidelites
First, we run the pre-process. Then we manage furnace logistics. Finally, we complete the checks and packing. This sequence keeps takt stable and scrap low.
- Pre-process line
- Loading & unloading tempering furnace
- Final inspection & packing line

Laminated automotive glass: windshields & sidelites
We support lamination for windshields and sidelites. In particular, our lines are ready for ultra-thin glass and HUD areas. Therefore, you can launch complex models with confidence.
- Pre-process line
- Loading & unloading bending furnace
- Assembly process (incl. ultra-thin glass)
- De-airing (vacuum) process
- Final inspection & packing line

Vacuum de-airing systems: bag, box & ring furnaces
Vacuum de-airing stabilizes optics and bonding. It also supports acoustic layers and HUD zones. In short, glass quality improves while rework drops.
- Vacuum bag furnace (sidelites & windshields)
- R&D vacuum box furnace
- Vacuum channel ring furnace
- Post de-airing checks & QC

Post Glass Operations (PGO) for automotive glass
We integrate finishing and assembly steps. For example, primer, extrusion, and encapsulation. In addition, we add devices and checks to secure quality and traceability.
- Bright finishers assembly
- Centering pins and spacers assembly
- Long life primer application
- Polyurethane extrusion on the periphery
- Seals, bond on lace and finishers assembly
- Alarm, antenna, heating circuit connectors assembly
- Grommet assembly
- Brackets/pins application supporting various devices
- Mirror boss assembly
- Holders and spacers application
- Encapsulation (PU, TPE, PVC)

Tooling & Fixtures Division — molds, gauges & quench systems
IOCCO designs and builds tooling for bending, press forming, and dimensional control of automotive glass. We work with furnace and line OEMs as well as end customers worldwide. As demand has grown, we created a dedicated division with its own resources, a vertical engineering team, and advanced CAD/CAM. Consequently, decisions are faster, traceability is higher, and quality stays consistent.
To speed delivery, we rely on a vetted network for machining, heat treatment, coatings, and metrology. Even so, IOCCO retains full design authority, QA, and project control. Our tooling ensures precise geometry, mechanical stability, and OEM compatibility—even for asymmetric shapes and tight radii. We also supply high-accuracy checking fixtures and quench boxes/blowers. These systems provide uniform airflow and robust operation at high temperature.

What we deliver — automotive glass tooling
We provide the following tooling. Each item is engineered for repeatability, fast changeover, and long life.
- EPBt — Advanced press-bending tooling for tempered parts (BL, SL, RF): aluminum heated press male + registrable press ring + roll system / bent rollers + quench ring + quench box.
- EPBl — Advanced press-bending tooling for laminated parts (BL, SL, WS, RF): ceramic heated press male + registrable heated press ring + roll system / air-flotation table + quench ring + vacuum hood.
- CPB — Conventional press-bending tooling for tempered SL: registrable press male (with/without RTV) + registrable press ring + roll system / bent rollers.
- Roll Form — Bent rollers for roll-form press.
- Stainless steel press male — For demanding durability and cleanliness specs.
- Quench box — High-efficiency airflow design for homogeneous quench.
- Glass checking fixture — For naked glass (dimensional/curvature checks).
- Glass checking fixture — tertiary — For glass plus components (gasket, pins, brackets, etc.).
- Tooling design — CAD on Catia V5 with full documentation and BOMs.
- Surface compensation — Available on all items.
Abbreviations: WS = windshield, BL = backlite, SL = sidelite, RF = roof.
Engineering for automotive glass automation — approach & scope
We deliver turnkey lines with model-based engineering and virtual commissioning. As a result, start-up risk drops and ramp-up is shorter. Robots, PLCs, and MES keep takt stable while quality gates track genealogy. Finally, optimized layouts and energy-aware recipes cut downtime and energy per piece.
